Came across this at Boora today.

Thought it was just a rat or something at first.

Smelled quite fishy, but looking at pics online, the back legs don't look right for Newt.

    Lizard?

More than anything it looked like a frog, but with a big mad tail. Head looks weird too. It was about 15 cm in length.

The pics are of partial remains so be warned if you're squeamish.

I don't suppose you noticed if it had teeth?

Rodent teeth are easily recognizable with the long incisors and the gap before the molars.

Frogs and Newts have teeth of uniform size, more cone shaped.

Also did you notice if there were claws on the toes and how many toes were on the fore and hind limbs?

Frog is the thing I'm thinking, but for the tail.

The third pic above is the closest thing I could find that resembled a head! No teeth visible.

As far as I could tell, 4 on the front and 5 toes on the back.

The more I look at it, I think it is a frog, and its 'tail' is the second leg stretched straight.

That last picture looks very much like a frog's leg to me.

I think that that's exactly what it is.

Having conducted and in-depth, well more 'in garlic butter', anatomical research on frogs' legs that's what they look like.

The number of toes matches a frog and the elongated digit visible on the foreleg also suggests frog.

    That's a kermit
Just to point out also some frogs very small minimum of them still hold their tails and never lose them from tadpole stage
