Firstly I'm not sure if this in the right place, sorry if it isnt.

I am receiving Saorview and UK Freeview digital channels Via an aerial set up.

The signal quality is showing on the stb as very good and I can tune in alot of the UK channels

But on C45 and C50 I dont have any signal even though there should be.

Is anyone receiving all the UK Freeview Channels in ireland.

Oh the aerial is pointing at the Presely Transmitter

Any comments or advice would be appreciated

The reliability of Freeview reception really depends on where you are located.

For general domestic reception from Wales, you need to be on the east coast and probably further south than Arklow - also depends on your antenna type and height.

I live in Kilpedder and have generally unreliable reception from both Presley and Blaen (have tried several antenna types for each transmitter).
In high pressure conditions I have perfect reception, but as soon as the pressure drops, I loose everything. In my case I am just too far north to be reliable (without resorting to towers and phased antennas)

Best bet is to repost on the terrestrial forum (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=56)
and give as much detail as you can on your location and antenna type (design and group).

Your c45 is probably blocked by Saorview from Mount Leinster, which is currently also on c45.
Saorview on c45 should be shut off on the "Week beginning 12th November"
Saorview from Mount Leinster will use c23 instead.

c50 is broadcasting "Freeview HD" using DVB-T2.
Are you sure your equipment is compatible?
A standard Saorview box will usually not pick up DVB-T2 signals.

    Thanks for the replies.

I am located near Roundwood in an area that according to ukfree.tv has coverage (green) from Presely.

I am using a wideband grid type aerial with a high gain (27db) mast head amp. It is mounted on the chimney with a standard aerial bracket Just at ridge height, I tested the signal higher up but there was no improvement.

The channels I am getting which is most of them have strong signal that seems reliable.
The same aerial is pulling in saorview (kippure C54) on the back.
I dont receive any signal on C45 from Presely or Mount Leinster, It will be interesting to see what happens when it switches to C23.

My meter isnt DVB-T2 compatible so I just checked the receivers I was using (a few different generic (non Saorview approved) ones) I thought one of them was DVB-T2 but it wasnt :( so that explains the C50.

I get an almost equal signal from Presely and Mt L (side of aerial). The result is that CH45 shows a strong signal reading on various boxes, but zero quality. In other words they cancel each other out. Depending on weather conditions I get occasional bursts of either but seldom stable enough to watch for any length of time.
