Moisture contect of straw

    Hi All,
    Would anybody know the average moisture content of good field dried straw? Also does anybody have any good cheap ideas for drying it further?

    around 15% aslong as its not green or very fresh, regards drying it - there is this yoke I saw two years ago up the country. I was in a field and it appeared from nowhere, big yellow thing in the sky, havnt seen the likes of it since for drying straw

    How about an open sided shed? Why do you need to dry it so much?

    Looking at using straw to make briquettes so need th emoisture content down as much a possible for it to work. Just trying to see if it would be worthwhile.

    why not use mischantus instead of straw? what moisture % do you need for briquettes? is there not similar products in the market already

    just on burning the straw Heard a friend of mine saying when he burnt the straw all he ended up with was a big pile of ash, when he burned wood he would not have to empty the box for days
