Not sure if this helps but ,

In ROI this box is €59.99 - so saving a few quid

UK is busy so can't see yet if it's up there.

and looks like the ROI box will record

not sure if it will get freeview - someone else may know
but if it does it probably won't have the 7 day EPG / red button

If the UK box can decode saorview , most FreeviewHD should , then you won't get the Irish EPG and unlikely to get the teletext and other Mheg 5 stuff

I think the OP here is in the border area, so would be in the market for Freeview HD.

Don't make comments about what you will or won't get with these receivers unless you're 100% sure of what you're talking about. We should be on surer ground in this part of the country in a couple of weeks time, when the Freeview HD broadcasts start.

The Argos Saorview box doesn't do DVB-T2. It's just the same as most of the other Saorview boxes, except it says 'Bush' or 'Alba' on the front . . .

Well i took a chance and bought this box today, plugged it in and initizalised it, picked up all the freeview channels AND Saorview channels, puts the saorviews in the 800's. Havent fully got messing around with it yet but it seems theres an option to edit the LCN's which should allow me to move the saorviews to where i want....

The box also has a USB port......which give it PVR functionality, and media file playback.........
