Gay in Rural Ireland

I'm Gay and I live in the countryside, just a outside a provincial town. I'm only a teenager but I hate living here as a Homosexual. It's so lonely, I feel isolated, the people here aren't exactly too forward thinking or accepting, so I can't really come out to too many people. Btw, I don't give it off that I'm Gay, I'm quite normal actually. I would love a bf though, even at my young age, but I don't care because straight lads can go around with girlfriends from age 12 (I've seen it many times). My Dad isn't very happy about me being Gay, my Mum couldn't really give two ****s, although she was a bit shocked at first, and the few friends that I have at school don't really mind which is fair enough I suppose. I would love even just a friend who is also Gay/Bisexual, it would really help the loneliness out here. I would like to live in Dublin or even Cork where there is a bit more activity/versatility, but I guess I'll just have to wait until I go to college. Message me or whatever if you can help me out. Thanks.

Mod: It's preferred here that posters didn't invite others to PM them in this manner.

Not Mod: I used to be a teenager, living in the countryside, quite a bit outside a provincial town. It may feel isolated, but you're never "the only gay in the village", the impression you have to move, or wait until college isn't quite accurate. Sure there are less LGBTs, and you can't just follow the rainbow to find them, but they are there.

Also, people who "give it off" that they're gay are normal too.

Have a look at youth LGBT groups in the nearest place tehy're available. I know of shOUT! in Galway or BeLongTo in the Dublin area.

This link http://www.lgbt.ie/get-support.aspx will hopefully give you a little more information.

I will look. Btw I didn't mean that about people who show off their sexuality, what I meant was I don't make it obvious so probably nobody could tell that I'm Gay. No one is normal, there's no such thing as normal.

I'm from a small town in tipp and in my secondary school in a class of 45 there was 3 guys and 2 girls who are gay, only two came out in sixth year and it was grand the others came out after. Every year you'd here so and so is gay once they leave school/town so what I'm saying is your definitely not the only gay in the school.

Well I go to a very small Irish College, it's not very versatile, but there is a girl who is openly Bisexual in fifth year if I'm correct. That's it.
