    To make their Leap Card readers communicate in real time to the cards database in order to update the accounts of each card. Some one said 3G is required but is that feasible, secure and likely?

    Hmmm, it's a slow enough process as it is!

    I'd imagine a 3G connection would do. Those Wayfarer (?) ticket machines look a little dated though - not sure if they'd be up to scratch for that.
