Does anyone know what is happening wih this. I'm looking to book flights to Barcelona in May, but only a couple of routes like Malaga are showing, do they always stagger releases of flights or is this route being cut?

I'm guessing, but I'd say its just the process of arranging flights and making them available to the public. There should be a lot more available over the coming weeks.

As IBU says, they just have to arrange flights etc. I know this because I've been trying to book flights to London for next May and they still have no dates past around March or April and this would be one of their busiest (if not the busiest) route they have. Seems ridiculous as I've been able to get flights with Aer Lingus for months but waiting on the potentially cheaper Ryanair option.

I think they like to keep the airports on their toes by not guaranteeing they'll be travelling there next summer.
