best media player to store movies and watch on tv

best media player to store movies and watch on tv ok im not even sure if its called a media player or if it even exists but im looking for something to store all my movies/programs on as its filling up my pc memory and instead of buring to disc to watch on tv i am looking for a media player to store them on that will also plug into tv to watch them something that doesnt use internet for watching the tv would be great as i can take this anywhere then and plug into any tv with my whole movie collection there any help appreciated

I can highly recommend the solution I'm using for a couple of years:

I'm storing all my video files on external hard drives, and watch them on my TV with this awesome media player:

There's a newer version out, which I have not tested, but friends of mine are using it, telling me it is doing the same job as my device:

The beauty of it is: it plays literally everything and you can hook it up to any storage device, that has a USB port.

Last but not least some pro-tips:

1) If you are not in a hurry getting it, buy in from continental Europe, since it's half price as in Dublin shops:

2) when you buy a new harddrive for your media always buy a second one and clone all data on this one as a backup. If you haven't lost any data yet due to HDD crash you are just lucky, it's not a question of "if", it's a question of "when".

is about €90 delivered from Dabs now. I plan to order one but before I do is there any better one on the market or any reason I should hold off.
