Great to see another new coffee shop opening
(especially when it is a forum member opening it)

    http://coffeeangel.com/pop-up-shop-south-anne-street/

As anyone who has dealt with Karl can attest he is a passionate about
coffee and extremely helpful and a complete gent to do business with.

Best of luck with the expansion and anyone in the Grafton St area now has no excuse for drinking bad coffee.

Had only dropped him an email earlier to wish him well - he said he should be there a fair bit himself which is all the more encourgaging.

    Thanks Guys! You're very kind.

We've had a "proper" shop planned for some time now, but the powers that be in the planning office have not been keen to meet my demanding timeline for this particular location ;-)... hence the temporary / pop-up on South Anne Street. I'm hoping that the diminutive size and operational limitations of the SAS location will serve to hone and focus what is both important to me and to you the customer. Basically, I want to make a few mistakes and learn from them quickly.

As donnacha mentioned above, I'm going to try to be there as much as I can manage so please feel free to make yourselves known as "Boardsies". I'll be delighted for honest feedback, both :-) & :-(

    Best,
    K.

Great news indeed. There's no one around that area serving really good coffee. In fairness there's a few that are ok but this should be a whole other level. Best of luck Karl.

I think I spotted a twitter update/comment over weekend saying they're aiming for opening tomorrow (Tuesday).

Best of luck with the new shop. I sure will be visiting to sample the merchandise next time Im in town :)

I dropped in after lunch today. Karl has a load of coffee equipment for sale in the shop also - largest range of equipment I've ever seen in Dublin. A few hints will be dropped to the better half tonight on what I want from santa :p

    Hey Guys,

Just a quick thanks for the kind wishes and support thus far!!!

We are still finding our feet and ironing out a few wrinkles at Coffeeangel SAS, but overall I am pleased with the response. I am in the shop most days... except for about 90 mins in the afternoon whilst I attend to our other operations (which is obviously when most of those I hope to see end up visiting ;-).

I am still working on recruiting some coffee-savvy staff who can hold the fort when I am away. So if you do have any brewing questions, requests, feedback or complaints when I'm not around, please feel free to contact me directly at karl@coffeeangel.com - NOT SURE IF THAT'S OK WITH THE MODS / EDIT AS NECESSARY.

Again, thanks all for keeping this fun, challenging and rewarding in equal measure.

    Best,
    K.

    Hi Karl,

Really impressed with the shop yesterday. Just finished off a brew of your Wote Konga, would highly recommend it!

Havent tried the Fórsa Gála yet. Looking forward to it though.

    Keep up the good work!
    Joe

Also impressed. The Wote Konga was indeed superb; brewed using the aeropress (I must get those ratio's and times!). Also picked up a bag of Kagumoini.

A great spot if you're looking to get into home brewing or perhaps if you're upgrading a grinder as there's a such great selection of equipment on display.

+1 for Coffeeangel (South Anne Street)

I was in over the weekend and really enjoyed it.

It's more of a coffee snug than shop. Reminiscent of the early days of 3fe. Nice.

If you're wanting to grab a coffee and go that's fine, but if you have the time to enjoy the coffee there Karl will find the time to talk coffee with you. Plus there are heaps of brewing equipment nicely displayed for purchase and freshly roasted coffee - house blends and singles.

Well worth dropping in. Experience it before it disappears.

(Finally) Picked up a replacement Hario kettle in the SAS store yesterday... Super location & great selection of coffee gear. That yirga is really tasty too.

Very best of luck with it Karl!

I was passing yesterday and fancied an espresso but the shop was packed (which is a good thing!). Next time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 88 ✭✭arabica69

Thanks all for stopping by - with only 2 seats it's not very difficult to be packed!!! The response and support has been brilliant so far. There is still a snag list the length of my arm, but at least we are getting there.

...again, always open to hearing your thoughts.
    Best,
    k.
