Importing a replica as a gift ?

Hi all, please forgive me if i am in the wrong forum, i have done some research on my question but ended up as confused as when i started.
    So, here goes,
My son is a massive Assassins Creed (xbox 360) game fan and as such i wanted to get him a surprise gift for christmas away from the usual poster and game stuff and i came across this item - ,

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/17-5-Battle-Axe-ASSASSINS-CREED-3-VIDEO-GAME-TOMAHAWK-CONNORS-HEAVY-AXE-/320990997388?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4abc8deb8c#ht_4155wt_950

however i don`t know if its legal to import such an item as this replica, it will be used only as a wall hanging display along side a 3d poster his sister has gotten for him.
Any advice would be very gratefully appreciated indeed.
    Many thanks,

I don't think the axe is a problem doesn't look half as dangerous as something you can pick up in wood's, they only place I could see a problem is the feathers on it if there real but I'd say there fake so you should be fine.

On a side note, I love gears of war but my mum never dreamed of getting me a chainsaw or a shotgun, I'm not so sure it's a good idea to let the virtual world spill into the real world. Your son doesn't need an Assisans Axe.

    Hi drunkmonkey,
many thanks for your reply, i appreciate your point about not "needing" the Axe and i will think about your input, its just that he has a massive collection of Assassins creed stuff, all the games, posters, replica statues of game figures, etc`, so i was just thinking this would be something out of the ordinary for his display case, but i do appreciate your point about the item.
    many thanks.
