Dealing with an Injury?

Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong place.

Last Monday I felt as if I had a dead leg, just above my left knee, so no running.

Same thing Tuesday, Wednesday it was gone, then 10 mins into my run, I had to stop with the pain.
My leg is still sore above my knee, certain movements cause pain, but I am not in agony. I missed work today as it has not improved and my job is physical.

I am just wondering what my next move is??

Should I go to a GP hand him 55 euro just to tell me to rest it, or worse have him send me down to A&E to sit for hours to get a scan just to say its minor and rest for a week.

Is a physio worth going to, I went once over a shoulder pain and I felt the guy was giving me the run around (come back next week for 6 weeks)

I'd say go to a proper sports physio/physical therapist, one with experience in treating runners. If you post your location people can offer recommendations.

The nearest one I'd imagine is the sports clinic in Northwood Santry,
I am just unsure if it is worth going to, and the policy, do I need a referral letter?

You don't need a referral letter to see a physio. I don't know if that one is worth going to or not.

If your GP sends you for xray you can go to the minor injuries clinic in Smithfield for that. Physio etc will be included. Same as going to A&E.

    Second this!

Definitely go to a good physio with sports injury experience.

I was flying fit this summer til a little niggle I had in my knee gave out and turned into a big thing. Haven't been able to kick a ball or even go running for over two months now, will be out til after christmas.

The small things can become very serious. I'm gonna have to spend a lot on physio to get fixed up.

So get it looked at, it's definitely worth it. (wish i had!)
