Turbo trainer Classes

    Hey guys,

    I was wondering if anyone knew of any turbo trainer classes running over the winter in Dublin?

    The idea being that you bring your bike and trainer to a hall and then someone runs the class for an hour or so.

    The thoughts of training by myself in a cold shed is horrible so it would be great if something like this was going on.

    I know Wheelworx runs these classes down on the Fonthill road. I haven't done them as of yet, so not too knowledgeable other than this link:

    That's exactly what I'm looking for. I'm based around Dundrum so bit of a drive to fonthill but might well be worth it.

    Thanks a lot Roddy23.

    That's a great idea... I'd be up for this aswell, so started looking around and found;
    http://www.base2race.ie/ - From what i see on the site it's only swimming, not had time to call them yet
    http://www.sportsmedireland.ie/ - again, not had time to call them to find out costs etc.

    Hi Blabley,

    I had a quick look on their site and the impression I got was that both of those sites where 1:1 rather than classes and as a result more expensive. If this is a class, can you respond here and let me know?

    The one at font hill starts at 6.30pm on Mondays and Thursdays which I have no chance of making and the other negative is that you have to spend 100 euro up front for which you get a set number of classes. (10 i think). The great thing is the class is 2 hours long....

    On a different note, is it possible to buy just a separate rear wheel for turbo training and how much would it likely to cost?

    Turbo: Turbo training is a cycling workout that is done using your own bike on a stationary trainer. Turbo training allows everyone to work at their own level without the fear of getting left behind, and is excellent training for any kind of cycling, be it leisure or racing. It’s a fantastic workout, and is great fun too. If you have a turbo trainer of your own we ask that you bring it with you. If you do not own a turbo trainer we have 20 available to borrow for the classes, and these will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
