I'm 21 and I've never really been in a relationship. Never had a girlfriend to make it simple. I've had 3 'flings' after drunken nights out with complete strangers but other than that I'm pretty much an amateur at relationships...

...now there's a new girl I've recently met. She's just transferred into my course in college so she knew no one and already we've had a bit of a connection. She'll go out of her way to talk to me, acknowledge me in corridors with girlfriends, chat on Facebook and I generally feel we are on good ground together. As far as I'm aware she's not got a boyfriend (going on our conversations and her Facebook)

Basically I'd love to ask her out sometime but I really don't want to risk coming off as a creep and then having awkward moments with her for the next 2 years! There is a class night out tomorrow so I'm wondering what sort of moves I should make. I want to make her feel like I'm really interested in her and would love to get to know her but at the sane time I don't want her to think that I'm just there trying to take advantage if the 'new meat' in the course, get me?

Any advice, no matter how silly you think I'm being would be appreciated. Thanks

Don't get involved so early on in the year, if she doesn't respond to you you will have the rest of the year to go around trying to avoid her. Play it by ear. You will get the vibes whether she is really interested in you or not. If she makes it her business to stay chatting to you then take it from there but if she doesn't then just wait this one out. Time will tell whether it would be a good idea to ask her out or not, but at the moment I think it is too soon.

    Time is double edged sword!
if you like something go for it either you get it or didn't (life common law). ask her out directly, I dont see it really as big deal even if she rejected the proposal you will still be able to breath and walk!

    Agree with Ranger.

Ask her out sooner rather than later. The longer you leave it the more you will fancy making it more difficult to make the move. You will potentially be deep in the friend zone if you delay! Weather you get the date or not atleast you will have your answer and can move on either way.

Why dont you casually ask her to go see a movie. Taken is out this week for example. Tell her you want to go see it and instead of going alone is she interested in going with ya? It wont give you massive time to talk but, it will give you a sense of whether she is open for it.

If it works out, tell her you had a great time and that you would like to do it again, say maybe the next time we could go for some grub. Youll gauge what she is like then. She will surely get the picture.
