    Here goes.

Im absolutely stumped with this one.

Mrs Hellrazer has a 03 Spacewagon.Have it since it was 18 months old and its never once let me down.

During the week my wife said it started to feel like it was accelerating too much and then sometimes not accelerating....like a major hesitation.

I put it down to possible throttle body so took it off and cleaned it and the problem seemed to be gone but today it started doing the same thing again.

Hard to describe but sometimes you put your foot down and theres no power and then suddenly it takes off like a rocket.

Thought it might be the maf sensor.Again cleaned it,checked the resistance etc and its working fine.

Btw theres no check light on and no codes showing up on the obd.

If I disconnect the maf sensor it`ll run all day albeit at erratic idling.Soon as I connect up the Maf it starts again.

Ive checked the plugs, leads etc and alls fine there.

So question is the TPS--would this cause the behaviour that the car is giving?Ive tested it with a multi meter and the resistance seems all over the place.

With the throttle closed Im getting 4.22 which is correct but at open its not changing at all.Well sometimes its going to 2.7--should it not go up rather than down??

Im hoping someone can save me a few quid instead of me bringing it to a Mitsi dealer.I know these from my time in Mitsi and I know that the obd wont read all the sensors in it but the MUT 2 will.

    Any help appreciated.

Blocked or faulty Egr valve maybe.

    Just for the record.

It was the idle air motor located on the bottom of the throttle housing.
Completely coked up and seized-the reason it ran for a few days was because Id cleaned the throttle and the motor must have moved slightly allowing the car to run but it obviously seized up again.

Got a new throttle housing with the motor for 200 euros..from a Main Dealer with obsolete stock looking to get rid of it.

    Cost of a new one--1000+vat.

For the record though you can clean the motor out but mine had broken a piece off the shaft of the motor and was stuck on closed hence the cutting out and bad idling. Also since its a mechanical motor they dont throw on any check lights.

If anyone ever needs a throttle body I have one here with a fully working TPS and idle air motor...picked one up from a scrap yard and have rebuilt the housing this evening.Tested and working 100% but Im leaving the new one fitted.Same throttle body as the Galant and a couple of other models.
