moving cattle online help

    hi,
    im trying to move cattle online and it keeps asking for cert number does anyone know what that is and where id find it?

    try putting in either the movement date or the animals tag number, that usually brings it up

    Its the number of the movement permit which the seller would have got before the animals were moved to you.

    AFAIK, you can only notify the movements online if your number was nominated by the seller when he applied for the permit.

    thanks for the replys, i got it sorted. its cattle the other half was selling and i was trying to apply for a compliance cert online. this is all new to me

    can someone tell me if i'm doing this correct,I sold an animal off the farm,I went on line applied to "move an animal from farm to farm" entered my details and the buyers details...............what do I have to do now .....Ive been ringing that stupid help line for 2 days leaving my number for a callback that dosnt come or getting cut off.....do I need to print off anything or do anything else thanks lads and lassies

    You print it off. I used it during the summer no waiting for permits and cattle can be moved straight away :)

    It depends on the herd they are being moved to.. If they are online then you don't need to print it off, they can go online and verify the movement..

    If they are not online then you must print out the cert, you get 3 copies when it prints, yours, his and a "notification copy", this is posted to the address given and the register will be updated by them.
