Octavia vRS - Which One?

I am currently looking to get a vRS.

I have it down to two models but am wondering whether the spec on this one justifies its price (with higher mileage) than this one.

Is it likely that the lower mileage one would have a similar spec to the higher mileage one regardless of what they have included on the ad or would dealers in general try and list everything the model has?

Any opinions, advice etc would be welcome.

Also any other websites (aside from autotrader, usedcarsni or nicarfinder) that people have used in the past?

    Thanks.

First of all 60k miles on a diesel car that is nearly 5 years old is not high mileage so remove that as one stumbling block. The silver one appears to be higher spec given that it has 18" alloy wheels, climate control, rear electric windows, auto lights and wipers.

Without viewing both cars it is hard to tell which one is in the better condition i.e. don't assume the lower mileage is automatically in better condition. Actually looking at the black one it seems to have a bit more kerbing on the alloys than the silver one. Also I see neither ad mention anything about service history, this would be a bigger sticking point with me rather than mileage or spec. If they don't have a verifiable service history then walk away.

Both would be fairly pricey after VRT is paid(that is assuming you live in the south)

Also as said both are nice low milage examples, i would have the black one personally as silver = snore

As its an NI car, I'd imagine the injectors have been replaced in the recall.

OP, as Bazz said, I'd definitely make sure they have service history. That would be they key choice. Along with the condition. My Octavia is a 06, with 182,000km on it. But it's been well maintained so it doesn't really look its age.

The overall mileage doesn't bother me, it was the difference in mileage between them and them both being listed at the same price.

The lack of a mention of FSH is something that I hadn't thought of at all so thanks for that.

Moving up North in a few weeks so VRT won't be a problem.

Unfortunately there are no estates in my price range.

This one can be added to the list too.

I would question the water pump recall on the black one.
I haven't heard of that being a recall.

    What's your budget?

I have emailed him about that. It looks like (maybe) the recall part got cut off and was referring to the injector recall as others have mentioned.

    Budget is roughly £10,000.

If you are going to live in the North you could bring one in from the UK.

    Nice LE here

Came across this in my own search.

I am getting increasingly suspicious about all the used cars at around the 100k mark. :D

Their not the most attractive looking car, but the estate looks a lot better than the saloon, good find by MarkR...

Thats a lovely looking example, the seats in the LE are savage and although slightly over budget looks better bet than either of the 08's

The only issue with the LE model is that the wheels are made of chocolate

I suppose it's the same with all cars but the more I think about it the more it seems like a better idea to hang on for a while and up the budget by a few grand.

Some lovely cars in the £12,000 range.
