Retrofit copper cylinder insulation

I'm wondering are there any companies/plumbers/places in Ireland that will insulate my existing hot water cylinder with the new type of insulation (that grey/yellow foamy polystyrene stuff that sticks to the cylinder)?

I just think that my lagging jacket isn't quite up to the job any more now that the newer stuff is on the market, but I don't want to fish out for a new preinsulated cylinder when the existing one is 100%.

    All advice/assistance appreciated!

What you would pay someone in labour and costs in order to insulate an existing cylinder to the same standard as a preinsulated one wouldnt be worth it when compared to the cost of a new cylinder.

What i would suggest in such instances is that most people forget to insulate all the pipework to and from the cylinder , this helps stop heat loss as well, use a thick walled insulation such as armaflex.

Also make sure the lagging jacket is well fitted with as little gaps as possible in it, there is nothing stopping you fitting a second jacket over the first.
