Zanussi hob knobs

Just replaced 3 of 5 knobs on my Zanussi hob. They look identical to the old ones and at €25 each I assume they are legit, but when I light the hob and release the knobs, the gas cuts out. Switching the knobs around makes no difference. The old ones work properly the new ones don't. Any ideas?

It sounds like the are to deep preventing the thermocouple from being energised, check the depth against the old ones.
