My 26x2.25 tyre states min 26psi max 54psi. What would be the general consensus on the pressure required for the likes of ballinastoe?

    Thanks

    40 psi F + R.Keep the pinchflats at bay.

30psi if you're running tubeless (and everybody should be!) - 35psi if not!

    30 in the rear.

27 in the front for more grip.

Those pressure's have puncture's written all over them for a lap of Ballinapuddle!!

Never had many issues myself at those pressures. I do run 2.3 tires though. Theyre a bit burlier then xc tires.

    22 and 24 now that I'm running tubeless :D

Running tubeless on Stans rims (normal tires, but running tubeless) at 73kg.

    24psi front, 26psi rear...

I have raced as low as 20 front and rear, but I try not to ping off rocks.

(2.1 Schwalbe Rocket Ron Front, 2.1 Racing Ralph rear)

40 front and back but might back off the front to 30 for grip, had a spill last day in the ballyhouras

I use 25 in the rear and about 23 in the front and rarely puncture. I find that the grip is much better on wet roots etc... Its personal preference but I would never go anywhere near 40 psi.

Don't use low pressures unless you are a savage on a bike like Ryan and Silvo! :D

35psi for tubes/tyres is good for most average bikers!

Ah but you weigh about 50kgs Silvia! I think the rest of us slobs need a bit more air!

I'm 81 kg, with tubes as low as I could go would have been 35psi, tubeless I try to get them around 27psi, the lower pressures make so much difference on roots in particular. But so many factors like rider ability and weight, type of trail, volume of tyre, strength/puncture resistance of tyre. Best bet is drop pressure down, see how you go and like it, change pressures around until you know what you like.
