    Hi,

Anybody have any experience of HRV systems?

I am looking at a house that has this system and I'd like to hear what other people who have similar systems think.

    Thanks in advance.

The filters have to be changed yearly (at least) so ensure that is done before you move in. Ask them if it has a "bypass core" option that you can use - basically this removes the heat exchanger part of the system for warmer months. Also ask if it has a heat sensor which shuts it down if smoke/heat is detected.

From a personal view we would never build or renovate a house without putting in a HRV system. We are renting currently (having lived in our own house with HRV) and the difference is marked.

By difference is marked you mean much better? Or do you mean the energy bills?

    Thanks for the reply
