Fuel Pump Hyundai Tucson 2008 (2.00 Diesel)

    Good morning,

    We bought this car about 5 month ago with a 6 month guarantee. Since the past 4 to 5 weeks we are experiencing a loss of power while overtaking and the signal *check* starts flashing. When this signal flashes, no matter what I do, I simply cannot accelerate, I can only stay at the same speed. After a while the signal stays still and everything works normally, and it then starts again flashing, no power etc....

    We brought the car back to the dealer about 3 weeks ago, they plugged in their computer to find out where the issue is and couldn't get a proper diagnostic from their computer. They then cleaned the fuel pump (and filter I believe) and all was ok for 2 to 3 weeks.

    We were driving yesterday, and the same problem came back...I have the strange feeling that the fuel pump needs to be changed altogether. We are bringing the car back to the dealer on Monday and they may just clean the pump/filter again and it may work for a few weeks. As our guarantee will be over then I was wondering what is the cost of a fuel pump on these cars and the labour? Depending on the price I might simply have to insist on Monday and tell them to change it...

    Hope someone can help, I just need to know the cost to get a new pump fixed really :(
