Just wondering if anyone could explain what the weird "smoke tail" is around the helcopter. These are two of a few pictures I took yesterday of Rescue 116 (EI-CXS) coming into Galway hospital. The strange trail showed up on about four consecutive pictures but not on any of the others. I didn't notice it when I was taking the pictures. Not seen anything like that before. I understand that the pictures are rubbish and wouldn't post them if it wasn't for the oddity surrounding it.

Just looks like a hair or something on the lens.

Yep, looks like some foreign object on the lens. If it were on the camera's sensor you'd have the same mark on all of your pics.:)

Thanks folks, thought it had to have a plausible explanation. It all makes sense know.

I was wondering if I had a camera with me and took a picture of the helicopter which is a replica of this I saw on Howth last Sunday will I get to capture something like that too?
I doubt it, I always make sure my lenses are clean.

Yes, you can get something like this if you're there at the right time (same heli from Thurs weeks ago):

That's massive! Since there's plenty of them going around, I wonder, in what scenario could I possibly involve my self in to be rescued by these biggies? I really wanna get on one since I'm bound to get swallowed by my own apathy anyway might aswell give it ago.
