Looks nice. The amazon one also looks good. I had high hopes for the nook one (as a very happy nook simple touch owner) but there is a fair loss of contrast (I saw them side by side).

Ainol Aurora 2 tablet looks like a good buy at the moment to me. 91 euro delivered from China. Good build quality. Decent battery life. Decent spec. Cheap as chips. Might have enough left over for one of those Glo yokies. :D

I wouldn't touch a Kindle if you give it to me for free. ;)

I will not be locked into anyone's golden cage (or ecosystem as they tend to call it so nicely).

Yeah, it was one of the things that pushed me towards the nook at the time (that and the paddy tax and the nook being a better device). Go on then...you've sold me. When I upgrade my ebook I'll check out the kobo glo.

€200 euro seems to be an akward gadget price for me, I think the closest thing to that price would be a PS vita, monitors, graphics cards and all that jazz would all be a couple of hundred euro more.

I have the KOBO Wifi for almost 2 yrs. Bought it in "the wild", on ebay from the US (€55), gave up the ghost within a week but KOBO was very nice and they sent me a replacement from Canada within 3 days.

What sold me? It doesn't require any software to manage it, just copy your books onto the reader or microSD card, that's it.

I read in one review that zooming in PDFs is a bit of a pain... some people never learn that PDF is not a format for flow text readers. You can crop them or zoom all you want, they're always a pain. ;)

You must already have all the good stuff if that's the best you could come up with. :P

Honestly... I wouldn't even know what else to get. Once you have the smartphone, laptop, custom build PC, games consoles what else is there? Especially for €200.

I think for 200 i'd like to get two PTZ IP cameras for outside.

Can't think of anything that comes in at 200 otherwise

My wife calls it 'the list' which she says is never ending. €200 isn't enough to buy anything on the list at present :pac:

Yeah, 200's an awkward amount alright. It was deliberate, to make people think and / or make them budget conscious. Might fire up a 400 euro one next Friday. :)

    Hmm, toughie.

Maybe a few Raspberrypi's for around the house, or a HD Linux satellite receiver for another room.
