    Hi all,

Im currently on job seekers benefit, and cant get work despite my best efforts.

My jobseekers benefit will expire soon, and so I will be applying for job seekers allowance which is means tested.

I still have a redundancy payment of around €5000 in a savings account, will they look at this as 'means', or am I right in saying I can have up to €20,000 and this wont be counted as 'means'?

Yes 20k is the threshold. €1 a week less for each €1000 in savings above that I think.

€5k will not be taken into account.
