Next Pike Championships Match is at Castleconnell

The October independent qualifying competition of the 2012/13 Kingspan National Pike Championships will be held on Sunday 14th on the Shannon at Castleconnell. Interested anglers should check in at the riverside car park at Castleconnell from 9.30 for fishing 11 to 4. The entry fee is €15 and there is an optional pool for the best pike (top 3 ).
To enter you must be a member of one of the 65 clubs affiliated to the Irish Federation of Pike Angling Clubs. If you arent a member of one of these you can join one at the check in for €10. The top 5 anglers from each of 10 independent qualifiers go through to fish in the Final. The winner of the Final will become the Kingspan National Pike Champion and will captain the top 10 from the Final in an International Team Challenge which will be held in England. The Federation will cover the cost of flights, hotel B&B, coaches, permits and presentation dinner for each team member. In addition each team member will get £150 to cover meals etc. The trip is from a Thursday to Monday.
We will be fishing a lovely stretch of water by kind permission of the ESB. The water levels are controlled as there is a dam upstream. This is a great venue and produces well. It is well patrolled by ESB and IFI protection staff. For more details give me a call on <snip>
