Dell Xps L501x screen prob

    hi

    i recently replaced a faulty hd on my laptop with a solid state one , that was 2 months ago , so all going good

    tonight i turned on my laptop and after the dell logo comes up the screen goes blank ( were you expect login screen ) but the cursor is still there and the screen is lit up in the back ground , my system didn't crash , just was like that today

    any ideas ??

    plus im getting a noise every time i press a letter ( like a morse code ) lol

    reseat memory and hard drive , if that doesnt work run the diags F12
