    Pretty ironic when you consider how critically endangered the kakapo is too.

    If the fossilised dung contains that much pollen, would that not suggest that the birds were eating the flowers, not pollinating them?
    Would be even more ironic if the introduced Kakabo birds pushed the plant into extinction.
