Has anyone got any suggestions....a friends son is post leaving cert, below average results, academically weak and lacking confidence bigtime. He started a plc course but has dropped out, has no direction. Repeat LC isn't on the cards. If it was a couple of years ago he'd be a labourer, construction apprentice but thats obviously not an option now.

Can anyone suggest any practical training courses/ on the job training programmes?

    What are his interests?

Would he be interested in any of the short courses run by Teagasc, to possibly work on farms?

Sport is his main interest but thats the course he's dropped out of. So I gather it needs to be something practical. I will look into that and pass on the suggestion.
