cant access student email through moodle

hi when i try to access my student email through moodle it redirects me to login to outlook. but it wont let me login. it tells me my account doesn't exist. what is the format for the login. i have tried firstname.lastname@itb.ie and my student number but cant get it to work. thanks for any help

Username: b000xxxxx@student.itb.ie / StudentNum@student.itb.ie
Password: Your moodle/college pass.
