Anyone remember Garbage Pail Kids chewing gum cards? Athey were all in really bad taste as an antidote to the sickly sweet Cabbage patch kids in the 80's

I was mad into them.My old bedroom in my parents is still plastered with fading stickers. There was a bit of controversy about them at the time.Someone bought them for their young kid thinking they were innocent fun and were horrified when they saw the stickers. They were particulery put out by a character called Itchy Mitch which was a baby tearing the skin off his back with a backscratcher. They were giving out in the Sunday World about it.

My other half has one or two of the stickers and until it was said to me I had not heard of them. I came across the film recently and yes I did watch it! Pure 80's tack :D! Should bring them back out see if kicks up the same storm...

I still have a load of these from when I was a teenager:D. Raked Jake, Paved Dave, Ratsucker Randall, are a few I can remember without digging them out. They're great!!

They banned them in my school, must have been '93/94. I was terrified of the one where the freaky monster hand came out of the toilet & squeezed the kid. Found the whole set posted on some website there recently they are very cool.

I had a lot of them. They were a bit of con because they'd sometimes have 2-3 variations of the same card, where the artwork was exactly the same but with a different caption.

The also did buttons/badges that cost a bit more. They'd essentially just be the card style done in badge form.

My particular personal memory of them however was I remember they were some of the earliest things of any description that I used to go to the shop for and buy myself. I used to collect up any spare change I could find and pay with it. Picture the scene of the guy going into the shop with the huge bag of copper coins and paying with them. That was me! :)
