Using the library to study, outsider

    Basically i need some were to study in city center , im not actually in trinity, just wondering if i walk into library will i get asked for a student card or anyting or could i just grab a desk and get no wit it? this would prob only be a once off really

    You have to show student card to get in.

    There are security guards who check for student ID at the entrance.

    I don't think you'll be able to get a reader's ticket if you're just looking for a study space: http://www.tcd.ie/Library/using-library/admissions.php#StaffandpostgraduatesfromOtherUniversities

    Otherwise, you'll have to look elsewhere (Dublin City public libraries, National Library...)

    If you are an undergraduate in another College you may get access to Trinity College Library if you need to read something that's available in Trinity and not in your own college library. You need to get a Letter of Introduction from your College Librarian and that entitles you to access for one day in order to read that item.

    If you are a postgraduate from another university, you should obtain an ALCID card from your Library and you may use Trinity College Library. You may use the Library resources but may not borrow books.

    Otherwise, you will not be allowed access.
