selling house , unable to travel to sign documents

    My elderly mother has been made executor of an estate in Mayo. Part of it was to sell a property which has happened .At the moment she is very ill and cannot travel far .She lives in Donegal and the solicitor dealing with sale is in Mayo.
    Is it possible for the solicitor to post final contracts to a local solicitor on Donegal so she could sign and have them witnessed there ? Would she have to ask the donegal solicitors permission first ?( It is an 8 hour round journey for her )

    If the solicitor can afford the price of a stamp and is able to get to a post box, there should be no problem.

    Happens all the time. Mayo solicitor would arrange with a Donegal solicitor to witness execution of the documents
