Hi all, my boyfriend got a letter to say that he is entitled to a PRSI refund. It was dated the 17th September and to date still no cheque.

When we call the number on the top of the letter it says 'sorry we cannot take your call right now'

And I can't seem to find anyone to speak to, all the other phone lines are automatic.

    Anyone any advice?

(ps wish I could change my work phone line to 'sorry we cannot take your call right now')

That's really odd. I am in touch with the Revenue Commissioners all the time.

It was an official letter from the Revenue Commissioners I assume. They are very helpful in there. In order to ensure you are contacting the correct office log onto their website Revenue.ie and click on the map of Ireland in the contact us section. There you will find out which office you should be in contact with depending on where you boyfriend lives. There will be phone numbers there which you should try again.

Pretty sure this refers to the DSP and how half the country applied for PRSI refunds. There is a large thread in taxation already about it.

Is this the number - Telephone: (01) 673 2586 - if not try this

Hi everyone - yes allthedoyles that is the number but you will see that it is an automatic message and it tells me that they cannot answer the phone. I called the Tallaght number because that is our area and they said I have to call this number above - yet no one answers! I guess I will wait to see will the cheque come in the post in the next few weeks..... pretty unbelievable that the phone line is unanswered!!!!

And now I am calling the number for Tallaght Social Welfare office

Address: The Square, Tallaght, Dublin 24

    Telephone: (01) 4629400
    Fax: (01) 4517434

RINGING OUT AND THEN GETTING CUT OFF!!!

    Hey!

My partner also got a letter dated the 11th of September saying he was entitled to a refund. Still no cheque received here either!! :(

Least we know we're not the only ones left waiting.... Himself is sending a letter on Monday as he has tried ringing to no avail.

    I'll keep you posted! :)

I finally got through to someone in revenue and the delay is 'the printer that prints the cheques is broken'

But it's fixed now so the cheque should be arriving soon!!!!!!
