I'll keep it brief so as not to annoy you, I have a 1 tb hd , medion aldi one, it stopped working last night in middle of copying a large file over, it was just clicking. Anyway when I turned in on this morn it was working fine, I completed the download and it went again, clicking, is this a over heat thing? I'm in process…

I would say the drive is simply on it's way out. Nothing to do with heat really.

Get your important data off it as quick as possible.
