As already stated before I tried the www.BritishFarmingForum.co.uk and so far I am not aloud to post as I don't have permission to do so eventhough I am a member and a private email address.

I tried www.forum4farming.com and became an active member within 24 hours!!!:p But I never used it as I just registered to see how quickly I would become an active member.:D;)

I joined forum4farming too. Its alright but seems to be very machinery orientated. Spotted a few posters from here on it.

Redzer - that is up to the members to change that and believe me the balance is improving.;)

I wasnt cutting it down or anything. Had a good read through the workshop part of it a few weeks ok, there is some handy lads with a welder on it and they dont spare the pictures in fairness to them. Just saying that the Machinery parts of the forum seem to be more popular on it than the livestock. Being honest I hadnt even heard of it until someone posted about it here a few weeks ago, a bit shocked that it never showed up on google when I had been searching for something farming related.

    I know you weren't ;)

Any forum is only as good as its members and yes several (not me!!) are handy with the welder and posting thought provoking stuff.

It is quite true machinery is more popular but that is slowly changing.

Surprised it is not on Google but has been well advertised in the IFJ and Donedeal.

Only the ones that aren't crabbit enough to change their username, unlike the rest of us :D

The cattle site is another good one.

BFF is a great forum. Mainly British, but there is people from all over the world on it. I got hooked on it a few years back, when I googled milking robots and there was a full thread from a guy who had installed a robot. Full account of the experience of changing to a robot, all info warts and all.
Been hooked on the site since. Learned an invaluable amount there

I would just like to point out that the members of bff are totally ignorant of the fact that the principal mod is not approving Irish applications.

I find the Direct Drilling section on bff very interesting

If you have a buddy with a UK email account you can register using that account. Once registration is approved you can change from your buddies email account to your own one.

I think www.forum4farming.com is gaining momentum but I will be staying with boards.ie myself.

I'm pretty sure you can subscribe to a thread if you want to do that in your own Control Panel.
