    Hey all,

I'm just wondering do ye take any supplements specifically geared towards cycling?

I've been chatting to a lad who names a number of different things(his a rugby player & cycles a bit) but was telling me about certain things he takes.

The vast majority of stuff he takes is stuff I've used and heard of before(protein, ZMA's, Multi-Vits, Recovery Shakes etc...) but he mentioned something called "N-Acetyl Cysteine" he said its supposed to be good for lung support. Done a little bit of reading on it myself can't seem to find anything on it.

Just wondering do any of ye take something like this, for lung support especially in the winter time? Apparently can be god at keeping respiratory infections away...

P.S sorry if this is the wrong place to post this

Take a dose of 140km twice a week and you'll do well.

From a cursory reading it seems to break up mucus (in the lungs) and help dissolve and remove heavy metals from the body (along with a huge list of more acute applications) but it also helps the body excrete zinc and there is a recommendation to double the dose of vitamin c which I wouldn't like. Seems like an odd one to start taking without a particular reason.

The best way to keep respiratory infections away is to avoid people.

Seems hard core. I would not regard this as a supplement (more like inhaling a small amount of bleach) for me a supplement gives what the body needs, this is more like medicine for a healthy body.
