Insurance for childrens groups

    Hi all,

I am thinking of running a group for children with special needs, I am just wondering if anyone knows about insurance for something like this? I am thinking of holding it in the local community hall, it would be 3 adults and 5-6 children for an hour and a half to 2 hours on a saturday morning.

Would the community centre's insurance cover me or would i need separate insurance?

    Any advice/info would be appreciated!

From working in a school if we rent a hall/room to a group we request they have their own insurance which will cover them for public liability claims/damage to premises etc. The school has its own insurance but would expect outside groups to hold their own insurance.

http://charityinsurance.ie/ might be able to help - haven't used them myself, but they are a reputable organisation. Can I make one suggestion - would you think about finding a way to integrate the children with disabilities with other children? Why not make it an activity for all, that particularly accommodates children with disabilities?
