seen videos recently that its possible without soldering etc any truth in this?

ya for years..nearly

you need a hardware flasher like an E3, or Progskeet (new version coming out soon)
and a factory service dongle like an E3 Card reader, some thermal paste and a bit of know-how. Not for the complete n00b

I downgraded mine with E3, but haven't been able get video out working since, I don't know did I damage the motherboard somehow :mad:

You may just need to do a soft reset on the console itself.

I kept mucking this up and any firmware that I tried to install just kept erroring out with 'corrupted data' messages.

Took a bit of reading but I finally realised that I had to download the Rebug toolbox and make sure that the console was QA flagged first before trying to install any other firmware.

So now after jumping through many... MANY hoops I'm back on Rogero 4.30 v3 CFW with a 500GB hard drive.

Happy days.

There is no jailbreak for 4.21. You first must go back to 3.55 & from there install a custom 4.21. Downgrading from 4.21 to 3.55 requires specialised hardware like the E3 flasher

Can you downgrade my ps3 to 3.55 ofw. I purchased my ps3 in march 2010, it's the slim version. I want the geohotz firmware on it (or the best availible firmware) so I can ... [MOD EDIT] not ask this question[MOD EDIT]
