    Hello everyone,
Anyone on here use Solo chainsaws for work, or even play? I see a distributer in Kildare, but they are almost unheard off up this end of the country. I have read that the company almost always wins the tender for Germany's municipal and military contracts.

According to this site they make a good quality saw, if spares are easy to come by, not a bad option.

The site I reference is excellent for such info

My father has a solo with a 18" bar he bought four years ago at least .
It has cut the world of timber for both of us and never let us down yet , I find it nice enough to use over a few hours and its not overly thirsty on juce
Did you get a price on them ?

    Hi Moy83,
Didn't get a price on a new one, reason I ask is I bought an old one at a car boot sale last Sunday. Big heavy saw from the early 70's I think. Had never heard of them, and there was no markings on it, I thought it was a stihl! I got it to run, but the carb settings are all awry. And the guy selling it had filled the chain oil tank with petrol to try and start it............
