Lately i have become obsessed with having my phone look the way i want it to.. I want to have the nicest background and i want to have clever buttons and generally want to have access to anything i need at the click of a button (phone related).

Just curious to know:

What widgets is everyone using?
What could you not live without?
How do the widgets help you?

We could maybe then have all the best widgets stored in one thread.

Lately my own ones that I have used a lot are:

Widgetsoid: Fairly popular, easily customisable widget bar that does so much more than the standard ones available on the One X.
HD Widgets
Beautiful Widgets

These are the ones i have been using the most..

Interested in others like calendars etc that i havent been making the most out of lately etc

I use:
Beautiful Widgets (4x2), can click on weather, time and alarms and calendar all from one spot
Youtube widget, shows slideshow of subscription uploads
Google Music widget
GNotes has a note widget that's handy sometimes too.

Along with widgets already mentioned I'd use the Speaktoit assistant widget, gmail, flipboard, bbc news and Tunein widgets. Very handy.

i got Excited when you mentioned the Google music widget but i remember why i never used it.

They don't have a prev button. As in i cant go back to the last song.

I use the Google Library Widget , you can also resize it to match your needs

Here are the ones I have installed....

Android Pro Widgets - has multiple sizes and configurations for SMS messages, Calendar/Agenda, Facebook, Bookmarks, People, Timeline and Twitter.

Elixir 2 Widgets for my toggles (data, wifi, bluetooth, silent, vibrate etc.) - nice and neat.

Catch Notes for quick note taking (recently updated to include very useful categories, and syncs online with www.catch.com).

AIX Weather Widget to show me the next 24 hours weather for two different locations (usually very accurate and looks great)

Google Genie - localised weather and news widget, very compact using minimum screen real estate. I find it indispensable.

Google music is USA only. You need to sign up using a USA vpn or proxy and then install an updated app on your phone. I have over the last few weeks been building up a decent music collection in the cloud

And how do you sign up for a proxy or vpn, i have been trying to get one working, but cant get it done

Depends on what you want to do with it, to just sign up to something, you won't need speed you can just use hotspot shield trial. For Netflix etc you can use DNS services like Unblock US which trick Netflix, Hulu etc into thinking you're in the USA. Or for full speed vpn you can use Overplay.
