I know pigs are supposed to be omnivores but not sure what to make of this. can ordinary pigs eat someone, or do they need to be like wild boar or something. have heard of people getting bitten by pigs but this sounds a bit mad.

heard an urban myth years ago that the mob used to use pig farms to get rid of bodies.

I recon its true. Pigs will eat meat and crunch up bones. years ago, weren't there loads of guys feeding pigs on offal?

Note: Its illegal to feed pigs on any type of waste product that may contain meat. legislation is in place.

There was a case similar in British Colombia in Canada a few years ago where a guy disposed of murder victims like that. Mad mad world:(

I think it was Philip Caputo who said around 40 years ago that he knew he had seen too much of war when he saw pigs eating roast human after a bomb/artillery attack on a village during the Vietnam war.

Pigs like humans are omnivores we can eat meat and vegitarian products. In the wild pigs eat roots etc however they also eat carrion or small animals that they manage to catch.

Friend of mine had two pigs in a pen. His wife had about 10 chickens around the yard 2-3 dissappeared over two days. He could not understand no feathers or sign of an animal attack. He was going back into yard say a hen pass the pen ,pig grabs it bay the neck by the time he reached the pen the hen had dissappeared.

He had to close up the front of the shed the pigs were in and did not tell the better half. The pigs were slaughtered a few weeks later and turned into pork and bacon

Brings a different meaning to a chicken and bacon sandwidge.

If this economy keeps going the way it's going, there will be a lot of humans, scrapping withe the pigs, for roots and scraps:eek:

In the british film Snatch it is how the hoodlums dispose of their victims.

Throw a live rat into a pen of pigs and I'd say he'd last about 30 secs.

The seem docile enough but they would literally eat anything they can chew. That farmer was either dead or unconcious when the pigs ate him.

As for it being a method of disposal, I've heard of two cases in Ireland of it happening.
In fact, one of the cases was the first time someone was convicted of murder even though no body was ever found. The other case was about 60 years ago. So its not a new or uncommon thing to happen.

And then I hear the best thing to do
is feed 'em to pigs. You gotta starve
the pigs for a few days, then the
sight of a chopped up body looks
like curry to a drunk. You gotta
shave the heads of your victims and
pull the teeth out, you could do
that after of course, but you don't
want to go sieving pig **** do you?
Ever seen the size of one of their
    molars? •

They go through bone like it's butter.
You gotta have a few pigs though you
need about sixteen they will go
through a body that weighs two hundred
pounds in about eight minutes that
means that a single pig can consume
two pounds of uncooked flesh every
    minute,. . .

Hence the expression greedy as a
    pig.

Lad at work is from up north, said there were rumours of some of that happening during the troubles, apparently the pigs will digest everything but the teeth

    Snatch with brad Pitt
That bloke fed people to his pigs

Wild boar which are pigs obviously actually are known to hunt deer and other game
They are also known to break into a pen and kill and eat chickens/ fowl
Domesticated pigs have serious chompers and the bOar with tusks will do serious damage and the size of them have an appetite to match
