Time/Score display Sky Sports

It seems over the last few days Sky have changed their display settings for live sport and I'm now unable to see the left most portion of the display, i.e the time or clock in the screen.

From what I've been reading it's to do with certain tv's "overscanning" or leaving out some of the available picture.

I have my tv set up to widescreen, not zoom or 4:3 or anything else, sky box to 16:9. I cannot however find an option on my tv (Toshiba LCD) to turn the overscanning off. Very frustrating.

    Anyone experienced similar?

    Any workarounds?

    Thanks.

Most TVs have 'secret' engineering menu which allows you to adjust for things like over-scanning.
If you post the exact make and model of your TV someone may be able to tell you how to fix it.

How are your connecting the Sky box to the TV?

    Thanks for the reply.

    Tv is Toshiba 37WL66Z.

Tv is connected to Sky box via scart.

With DSO occurring most sports broadcasters have this season stopped making their graphics safe for 4:3 TV sets. In the first instance make sure your display settings are correctly set to 16:9 on both your STB and TV, which I see you've done.

One question if anyone can help- I have a Thomson 4e3007 box (the one that does not have or will get the darwin epg). currently used as a ftv box.

if I was to switch my sky account from the standard white pace skyplus box to this hd box(I assume they will still let you switch it to one of these boxes?) and watched skysports for example ,the sd version, through the hdmi cable- would the new wide graphics/scores etc be in the right position then? thanks!
