Vintage tractor logbook issue

Someone I know bought a vintage tractor a couple of months ago, since then the previous owner has been ducking calls and making up excuses regarding the logbook and won't give the reg number so that a call can be made to Shannon. Anyone have any ideas on what can be done, a decent amount of money changed hands here and the owner is now worried that the tractor was stolen and they will loose out big time.

Is the number not on the tractor itself? Maybe if you try to find the chassis number and try Shannon to see if there is any record of it.

Might be better to have posted in the 4x4 section.

Didn't know there was an tractor and 4x4 forum, if a mod wants to move it then that is cool. Thanks I will tell the owner to look for the chassis number. As far as I know the reg isn't on it as it is a vintage used for shows.

Your post reminded me of our own difficulties (understatement:D) of trying to register ours last year.

If the worst comes to the worst, the owner should be able to do this to register it.
