I'm trying to get some information on competition law in Ireland and it's relevance to the EU competition law. Would anyone have any idea where the best place to look online would be? I've looked at a few books in the library but it's the updated 2002 Act that I'm trying to catch up on and all books in the library are previous to this. It's more so the construction area I'm interested in if anyone has any information or could point me in the right direction. Appreciate any help. :D

Do you mean public or college library? I only ask as if it's a college library you might be able to get access to westlaw and alike.

Get an Fe1 study manual published post-Lisbon. In a few days there will be a few going up on Adverts.ie (Company Fe1 exam will be finished) for around 30euro.

It's a college library alright. I tried lexisnexis as someone mentioned this as a good site but unless I tried the wrong site it seemed I needed to pay for anything. Westlaw isn't something I'd heard of, does this have cases and information would you know? I'd like to see how a few cases have been decided since the new Act. Thanks for the reply :)

Not on to Company / Competition or EU law yet myself but I use Westlaw.ie, Westlaw.co.uk, Justis and the others now and agaion but it depends on the subscription. Mind if I ask which college?

I'm in Waterford IT so it has about 5-6 books on competition law and only one since the 2002 Act but it wasn't on the shelf when I was looking. I hadn't thought to try the college libraries online so I'll try that tomorrow. :D Cheers for the reply and help, I'll have to put "procrastastudy" as a reference on anything I do :D:D

I wouldn't :D! I know sometimes colleges interlend (for want of a better term) but Waterford is a bit beyond anything I could help with. The FE1 manuals are great but are going to get to the point rather quickly with very few pointers to other reading. Sorry I cant be of more help.

Nathy Dunleavy has a publication pre-Lisbon which is excellent.

I recommend Chalmers on EU Law by OUP generally, far as I know it has further competition modules online.

There's an ELT published by Roundhall as well which is also pre-Lisbon but maps the treaties into Irish Law. Lisbon only really rebadged the relevant articles to be honest.

I'm not sure if you are still looking but Jones & Sufrin is by far the most complete text on Competition Law that I have used. As above, Chalmers is also quite good. If you're looking for something very specific, check out tca.ie ..... I have mailed them before and they were very accommodating.
