So they've just opened the SAF application form. I'm trying to fill it in, but what do I put as yearly income? What I earned from January - now? What I earned from september 2011 - now? And considering my income is plumetting do I put what I will be earning? an average of what my paycheck'll be?

Hey Keesa. The best thing to do is to give Dami Adebari, the SU Welfare Officer a shout. He'll be able to help you with any queries or worries you have in regards to filling out the form :)

    His email is su.welfare@nuigalway.ie

Im trying to fill it out and in the part where it says amount of fees paid to date I put in €0 and then a box came up saying to enter a value between 0-0 anyone know what to do?

My question is related to Student Assistance Fund so decided to put it in here. Does anybody know the email for the Student Contact Centre? Have tried welfare@nuigalway.ie but it would not allow me to send email. Thansk

tbahh that's because his email is su.nuigalway.ie. You can get the SCC email on the nuig website

    Cat have you tried 0.00?

I haven't looked at it since

Sorry, should have been more precise. The e-mail that I'm looking for is the Atudent Contact Centre. The address I found on their site was welfare@nuigalway.ie but when I tried e-mailing that, no luck.

Anyone have an idea what it is? Would pop into office myself but I'm studying abroad. Thanks

Just happened to be thinking about this this evening when I realised I've 3000 min to pay in a week. Went onto the site and realised the first deadline is tomorrow. Did my best and sent it in. You meet the committee it seems anyway, so if they have questions or need anymore info I'll be glad to oblige if it means I can pay for my course some how! Most recent paycheque = 40 euro for 2 weeks - loaded :/

Do we not submit any receipts or anything like that like we did last year?

Well I just filled out the online survey and have done/heard nothing since :(

This is my first year applying for the student assistance fund, filled out the survey and was allocated €200. I now have to submit a form and receipts. What kind of receipts do people usually submit? My expenses are mainly food and petrol because I live at home, and don't have receipts for them. Very confused as to what to submit, would the bank statement suffice?
Also is the referee the person who emailed with thee allocation amount?

yeah, I fell for that one last year. needed assistance for petrol but didnt have any recipts. been collecting receipts since sept for every trip up and down for college this year so hoping for the best. got an acknowledgement email the other day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 570 ✭✭✭keesa

I just got an acknowledgment email, but it didn't mention any amount or anything just that I'd hear back...maybe because I'm not asking for living expenses? or is this a bad sign....

The link on the college website for applying isn't working

I'm getting an error saying that the survey has been deactivated

    Dear Student

I refer to your application to the Financial Aid Fund. Your application has been reviewed and it has been determined, based on the information supplied, that you do not qualify for an allocation.

    Yours sincerely

*sigh* looks like it's time for the loan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 255 ✭✭cat_xx

    I got this

    Dear Student
Further to my earlier email, please be advised that you are required to submit your paperwork (if you have not already done so) by Thursday, 29 November by 3.00 p.m. Should you not meet this deadline you may loose the allocation.

Except i got no earlier email?

    Just got an email

    "Dear Student
Further to your application for financial aid, if you have not submitted your receipts and filled out the SAF profile information by Friday, 15th March your allocated amount will be returned to the budget for reallocation to students in need."

I thought I was declined... anyone know what this is about? Survey includes submitting bank a/c details :/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 570 ✭✭✭keesa

    "Dear Student
Please ignore the previous email. Unfortunately this went to applicants who were deemed ineligible for funding so the email should not have gone to you.
    Yours sincerely"

Well that's nice... never mind so...
