AppleTV mirroring issue

    Trying to mirror my new MacBook air to my Appletv.
    I have MAC OS X 10.7.5 and I think I have Appletv 2 its the black one.
    From my research all I should have to do is go to displays in setting and click mirroring but no option appears.
    Anyone put forward suggestions?
    Newbie to Mac so bare with me.

    PS can mirror videos from my Macbook air Itunes library no problem

    Yep, AirPlay mirroring for Mac only came in with OSX 10.8, so you'll need to upgrade.
