I'm on HTC One X and find the stock player awesome, Gracenote gets all the album art too.
Does the S3 not have Gracenote?

I just use the google play music app.

Not too bothered about artwork/album covers myself, but if you've got it yourself, it'll display it.

Problem is probably during the ripping process, and not with the music player. After you rip them, check in Windows Media Player or Itunes to see if they have album art attached.

If you're ripping to lossless formats then I can't recommend poweramp enough-it plays absolutely everything you can throw at it and has a nice interface etc. Give the trial version a shot...

If you run your mp3s though this program on your pc first before transferring them to your phone it will sort out all the tags and artwork for you. http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ It's really very good at keeping your collection nice and tidy. Just go to 'change directory' choose the folder of the album you want to sort out, select all of the songs, go to tag sources and choose amazon or one of the others and fiddle around with it until you are satisfied. Then apply it and you're done. (You can then go t convert > tag-filename if you like having your file names neat too.) Also it saves the album art into each mp3 file so only transfer the mp3s to your phone.... no need to transfer any jpgs etc.

Personally I use PowerAMP on my phone but I'm always on the hunt for something better. I've tried a few. Winamp isn't bad either.
Also Airdroid is fantastic for transferring your music from your computer to your phone if you have an alright wifi signal.

Another vote for Poweramp. There is a free trial app you can give a go to see if it suits your needs. Have tried a fair few music player apps and nothing comes close to Poweramp.

I use mixzing. I can't say what made me opt for it tbh but I've used it as my music player since I had my old HTC hero. it does the job nicely, has a good selection of widgets and downloads album art that I haven't already got.

You seem to be able to click through to the lyrics too which is cool. I have the free one and it works fine, was just wondering if I was missing out, not sure on what as all I do is press play :p

iv always just stuck with stock ones.. tried a few like winamp as i use that on pc, but it doesnt allow you change the equaliser settings, so i gave up on it soon after :)

as one of above posters said, when ripping music make sure it has the artwork attached which should come automatically in windows media player and once they are there most players will recognise it.
besides that try all or any of the above apps :)
