    Don't know what the emergency was, it was definitely mechanical as ATC did ask them were they capable to taxi to the gate, which they were. That's all i got on the scanner

    It was the second diversion of this same flight. Earlier it had diverted to Stephensville in Canada for a medical emergency with a pax having a suspected heart attack. They spent 3 hours on ground there.
    And now diverted to shannon. Disaster for the passengers on board.

    Anyone know why this flight has such an odd flight path today? It doubled back 3 times before it hit the quebec border!

    Can only assume you saw it on flightaware or similar which often shows such phenomena. In reality it did not do so.
