Question about quitting your job.

    Alright, this might be a bit of a silly question, but I've only been here for a year and I'm not familiar with Irish laws, so don't be too hard on me!

    When I came over, my employer offered me a contract for 2 years. One year has passed and I'm tired of the job. Can I simply quit by giving my notice? Can he ask recompensation of some kind because I signed a 2-year contract and only served 1 year? Can it have any effect on my new job (if I find one)?

    not really, all contracts have a break clause in them, so once you give notice and a reason for leaving they cant say much. they dont own you or anything.

    What does it say in your contract about notice periods and resignation?
