I have a 16 year old Maxol Morocco boiler. It has never given any trouble.
Now the pump has stopped working. Also I cannot bleed 3 of the radiators.
Would I be better off getting a new system as this one is bound to start costing a bit from now on.3 bed semi Clondalkin area.Any recommendations?

Repace the boiler for a high efficiency boiler, replace the 3 rads and assess the rest of the rads. no way of telling with out looking but you more than likely don't have to replace the lot. I am also in the Lucan/Clondalkin area

Replacing rads because you can't bleed them is not needed, as any plumber can overcome this problem.

I had a bad experience instucting customers how to bleed rads this way and wont do it again

Rads not bleeding could be as simple as the bleed valve being blocked which could be sorted by shutting off the rad valves, removing the bleed screw and clearing it.
If they are the older rads and the bleed screw wont open you can drill the rad and fit universal ones.

It seems a bit excessive to recommend replacing rads that wont bleed with out more information.

Replacing your boiler just for a more efficent one may not make sense without adding it up first.
For example if you use €1000 of oil a year which will save you 10% and it costs €2000 to get a new boiler fitted i sit worth it?
saving of €100 a year means a 20 year payback.
It depends on how much oil you use and how efficcent your house is and what you think is a realistic saving/payback
